Urban clown news report.

So, I’ve drinking these ‘diet mike-shakes’ ( insert that chuckle reserved for oxy-morons...or just morons )...drink’n these things, not because I need to lose weight really, but chewing has become a gauntlet of pain...and these things are like ‘cream of asphalt’ you know...like ban-saw shavings in vanilla chalk-water...shortly after you finish one of these fuckers, your stomach kind’a does a double-take...kind’a like the digestive equivalent of see’n one of those ‘magic-eye’ puzzles, ‘cept when you focus and the picture appears, it simply says “fuck you”...then your stomach precedes to clinch up for a second or two...and for like two hours you feel like maybe you should lie down....heh...maybe I should have played along and pretended it was a meal you know, take about twenty minutes to drink the thing...give my stomach some warning first with a few sips.

saw this trailer earlier...
It does indeed look interesting...well, for the part of me - the frosty side that’s a terrible sucker for these kinds of films would be so entertained by this, and certainly bewitched by Claire Danes...no question...then there’s the other part, the bitter, lonely fuck, who, the last thing he’d like to do is watch some beautiful girl simultaneously date two guys who’d be pleased as pickles to walk through a wall of fire for her...”oh decisions, decisions”...argh...on some level, it strikes me as the kind of movie especially made for some freak cross section who enjoyed the beautiful nuances of “Lost in Translation” and yet also loves to watch “EliminaDate”...
likelier than not, I’ll wait for it to eventually show up on the Turner Network at 3 in the morning and ball my stupid eyes out...heh...the frosty side is so powerful during the A.M. hours...it helps that the other side is a glutton for punishment.

"Submissions Needed for Hurricane Relief Anthology

The Baton Rouge Cartoonist Society is taking submissions for an anthology to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

While our families and friends in the New Orleans and Mississippi areas are safe with family, there are thousands that are in desperate need and that will require extended help throughout the coming months. Every penny from sales will go to the Red Cross hurricane relief efforts.

This is extremely late notice, but our plan is to have the anthology available for sale at this month’s Small Press Expo. Due to the short turn-around time, we will need any submissions by Friday, September 16th.

We’re not asking for lengthy stories, but if any creators can contribute a short story, a page, a strip, a panel, or pin-up, we would be extremely grateful.

While we are all frustrated and angered by the initial ineffectiveness of our state and federal government’s response to this tragedy, we are not looking for political statements. Art and story celebrating the New Orleans and gulf coast region, or that touches on the tragedy, or expresses your feelings would certainly be welcome. If you already have completed art that you think would be appropriate, we would welcome that as well.

Format:
Our plans are to stick to a 4.25 x 5.5 page size.
If e-mailing, please keep file size within reason."

"If interested (which I hope at least some of you are) go to this LINK for the info on where to send it."

I'm not quite sure yet what to do, but there's still plenty of time.
